Assalaau'alaykum,
Being kind isn't just a nice idea or a vague ideal…but a practical virtue that the Prophet Muhammad (saw) consistently demonstrated.
His actions and interactions with others taught us that true faith is intertwined with kindness, as mentioned in this well-known hadith:
"Kindness is a mark of faith, and whoever is not kind has no faith."
In our everyday lives, we can actively look for opportunities to put this virtue into practice, renewing intentions to do so for the sake of Allah SWT.
As we elevate our intentions, we're released from being transactional or loaded with worldly expectation - and with this comes true liberation!
A singular purified intention to please Allah, will without doubt bring with it khayr (goodness) as Allah 'azza wa jal, rewards kind with kind.
For example, imagine seeing a co-worker struggling with a heavy workload. Inspired by this hadith, you decide to help them out. By lending a hand and making their workload a little bit lighter, you not only follow the Prophet's (saw) teachings but also foster a positive and supportive work environment.
A single, simple act can bear many fruits to be enjoyed in this world and also has the capacity to extend to your scale of good deeds in the next life.
Let’s start each day with fresh intentions to consciously spread kindness in our workplace, within our homes and with our families, neighbours, and friends.
And know that when we make a conscious effort to express kindness in especially challenging interactions, just as our faith encourages us to do, it’s a clear indication of strong faith.
May our deeds be adorned with the beauty of kindness as exemplified by our beloved Prophet (saw).
